Workshop: Intro To Liminal Space

May 17th 2PM Eastern

Explore what “liminal space” is, how to recognize when you’re in it, and why it’s so deeply connected to grief and death.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

A workshop on navigating the in-between.

There are moments in life when what was is no longer, and what will be has not yet arrived.

This is liminal space.

The threshold. The in-between. It can feel disorienting. Tender. Uncertain.

And it can also be a place of quiet transformation if we know how to be with it.

This workshop offers a gentle way of orienting within these spaces, so you don’t have to move through them alone or without a roadmap. You are welcome exactly as you are—whether you are in the thick of transition, on the edge of something new, or simply curious.

What You'll Experience:

  • Understanding what liminal space is and how it shows up in your life
  • A simple map to help you orient in times of transition
  • Exploring the descent and what it asks of you
  • Making space for the unknown in the in-between
  • The role of ritual in supporting you through change
  • Returning and integrating what has shifted
  • Closing together with a reflective haiku

What to Know:

  • Advance registration and payment is required.

Meet Your Guide: Rebecca

Rebecca Churt is a practicing end-of-life doula and the founder of The Grievery. Her work honors grief as a natural, universal experience—one that connects us deeply to each other, the earth, and all living beings. She approaches grief not as something to be fixed or solved, but as a presence to be tended with care, attention, and compassion.

Rebecca’s practice acknowledges the many ways grief shows up and challenges colonial narratives around productivity, resilience, and healing. She centers interdependence and the power of witnessing, creating spaces where grief is recognized not as a personal failure, but as a profound and necessary process for connection, reflection, and renewal. Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Grief is a natural, multifaceted response to loss that touches our emotional, physical, and spiritual lives. Not all grief includes loss. It extends beyond death to include transitions or changes in relationships, identity, health, and our sense of the world. We recognize grief as an ongoing process—one that calls for tending, compassion, and connection, rather than quick fixes or tidy resolutions.

Grief is not something to be rushed or “solved.” We honor a pace that respects the body, the heart, and the stories that need to be witnessed with patience and presence. While support and compassionate witnessing can help ease the weight of grief, it is not a destination or endpoint. Healing emerges through full engagement with sorrow, through feeling, reflecting, and connecting with others. It is a lifelong practice, a cycle we return to again and again, and a way to cultivate deeper presence, understanding, and care for ourselves and those around us.

Our gatherings are held as intentional, relational spaces. For this reason, we begin on time and ask all participants to arrive promptly.

If you are unable to arrive by 5 minutes past the start time and have not communicated with us ahead of time regarding a cancellation, reschedule, or late arrival, we will be unable to admit you to the session. Refunds or credits will not be issued in these circumstances.

Thank you for helping us tend the collective space with care and respect.

We use Zoom. A link will be sent to your email immediately upon registration. Our gathering spaces are opened about 5 mins before the start of the scheduled session.

We understand that schedules and circumstances change. Please try to cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your registered session. Any cancellations or non-communication within a 24 hour window will mean forfeiting your paid registration fee. All workshops are recorded and will be sent out to paid participants within 24-48 hrs following the event.
